JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH by XAVI MARTÍNEZ





Axel was a boy that studied and lived with his uncle who found a parchment in a book. Saknussem wrote in code. Axel read the parchment and understood it, the words were from right to left. Otto decided to go to the Centre of the Earth with Axel.



First, they went to Demark where they took a boat Reykjavik (Iceland). The scientist met a man that was called Hans. He knew the area and had to help Otto and Axel to arrive to a volcano called Sneffels Yokul that was the door to the Centre of the Earth.



All them went inside the volcano and got a big cave with three holes. They found the right hole because of seeing a column with Runic letters near a hole. They went down with a rope for ten hours and found a corridor where they went through and found two tunnels at the end of the corridor. Otto chose the right tunnel and they went into to reach the end of the tunnel after three days. There was a big wall in front of them. They couldn’t pass or went back to get to the left tunnel where they would find water. During the path through the left tunnel Axel lost, but Otto and Hans met him after Axel hurt his head. When Axel woke up, he was with Otto and Hans inside a cave where there were clouds, trees, high rocks and a big grey sea. They made a raft and put it in the sea to sail. They fished a strange fish without eyes to eat. After two weeks on the raft they saw a sea monster that began to fight with them. There was also a storm that carried them to a beach near a jungle. They went into the jungle and saw a enormous man, then began to run and hid in a cave where they found an old knife from the 16th century. They entered the cave where there was a big rock and decided to exploit it. Then the sea water entered to the cave and they sailed in the raft until a waterfall made them fall. They got to the inside of a volcano that took them outside through the eruption of a volcano. Then they saw the sun again after many weeks in the centre of the Earth, near a blue sea. They awere in Stromboli (Italy).



They had traveled from Iceland to Italy underground. Otto became famous.

MORE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD by DANIEL FERNÁNDEZ





There was a man called Robin Hood. When bad men took his lands, he ran away to Sherwood Forest near Nottingham and with his friends Little John, Friar Tuck and many other, they killed and ate the king’s deer, and they stole from the rich. His brother John ruled England for him, Robin Hood. Prince John was a bad man, and his sheriff in Nottingham wasn’t better. The Sheriff was always trying to kill Robin Hood but Robin Hood knew the forest well, and the people loved him.



After a long time and so many adventures, he came back to the forest and the people prepared a party for him.

LEGENDS FROM THE BRITISH ISLES by CARLA DÍAZ


My book has four legends or tales, so I have chosen the one I like the most; It is named “A Royal Secret”.

There was a king who had very long hair, because… He had horse ears!!! One day, he decided to cut his hair because he was very hot. He hired a barber that was committed to cut his hair. When the barber saw the horse ears, he jumped scared, so the king sent him to prison, because he didn’t want the boy to tell the secret to people in the town. The boy was alone, and he decided to tell the secret to the trees. Another day, the trees told the secret with a little voice and all the people that was there started to laugh.

FIVE CHILDREN AND IT by ELENA CÍSCAR





It is the school holiday, so five children are travelling to a house in the country. The four older children went to play and found a sand fairy who gave them wishes. The children started making wishes that they would enjoy. One wished to be taller, the other to fly, another to have a lot of money. They kept making wishes for themselves. One day they wished for their mother to have jewels. Lady Chittenden’s jewels were missing, so their mother thought the thieves wanted to hide the jewels in their house, but she was wrong it was the jewels that the children had wished for. The sand fairy was tired of making so many wishes. So, they proposed that they would have four more wishes and never to ask for more again. They asked the sand fairy for their mother to forget about the new jewels, and for Lady Chittenden to find her jewels that had been missing…

THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER by ALEJANDRA CARDONA


In 1537 two identical boys were born in London. One was Edward Tudor, the Prince of Wales, and the other was Tom Canty a pauper.

Tom had to beg in the streets to obtain money for his family because his father didn’t work, and he hit Tom if he didn’t bring any money. Edward lived in Westminster Palace and had a lot of food, clothes and many servants.

One day Tom went to Westminster Palace and he could know Prince Edward, who invited him to enter the palace. They spent all the afternoon talking about how their life was, and at the end, they decided to change places for a while. No one would notice it because they were identical.

Both could know how the other one lived. Tom was very happy as a Prince because he had lot of luxury around him, but he thought that the Prince life was very boring, and he also missed his mother and sisters. Eduard could know how difficult was to live without money and how different was the attitude of the people depending on who you are.

At the end they changed the places again and they became friends for all their lives.

PROJECT OMEGA by CELIA BRIA





One day Charles Hatfield Baker III disappeared. His daughder (Julia) was very worried about it. The policemen were with a photo trying to find him. He was on the newspapers. For weeks she hadn’t gone outside but one day she looked through the window and saw the first snow. She met the five men that worked with her father. For days she had been looking at newspapers and she had spent two days with the accounts and reports and were two very interesting days for her. In the second day, she found a red file called Project Omega and inside she could read: Never!. She went to Mrs Bently office and asked to a girl that was standing near the telephone. Later Miss Berger asked her about what she wanted to know and when she said Project Omega she said to the girl to give her the information. Some days later, one girl told her that she was in terrible danger. Julia had breakfast and left but when she was in the elevator someone took her hand. It was Edward who looked friendly. He asked if everything was ok and she told him everything. One day she was outside and two men took her inside a car. When she woke up she was on hos father’s plane with Edward who told her they were going to meet his dad in an island. When they arrived she saw it was true; his dad was there and they were talking a lot about what had happened.

THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER BY ANA BOIX





In 1537 two boys were born the same day in London; one child was a prince and the other was poor.



The prince was Edward Tudor and he lived in the Wesminster Palace because his father was the king of England.



The other boy was Tom and he lived in a room near Pudding Lane, a poor neighborhood near the London Bridge, his family was poor.



Tom asked for money in the street to eat and if one day he did not bring money home, his father got very angry, and sometimes he did not have anything to eat. Instead, Edward was rich and had everything he wanted: food, games…



One day, Tom went to the palace to see the change of shift of the guards and he met Edward and he became friends and they were playing together. At the time of going home, Edward had the idea of ​​changing to be Tom a few days and changed clothes. Edward went to the streets to play, to the river to swim and was happy, but when the night came he did not know where to eat or where to sleep and he started looking for Tom's house because he was tired.



Tom went to Edward's room and was happy because he could eat, had clothes, and could be with all the servants.



Edward's father became ill and decided that he had to pass the crown to his son and Tom could not say anything since Edward had not returned to the palace.



Edward told Tom's mother the story and the day of the king's coronation they went to see the parade and when Tom passed his mother called him and Edward said he was the king.



All the people looked and did not know what they were saying but Tom said it was true that he was not the prince and then the king said that who knew where the great seal was kept, that only the prince knew and Edward said he was in his room so it was known that he was the prince.



Tom and his family went to live in the city and were very good friends.



King Edward was very good with all the people because he knew what it was like to be poor and he died very young but everyone remembered the story of the prince and the poor.

THE LAST UNICORN BY ALESSANDRA APARICIO



The book is about a girl named Megan who was with her mother, Mrs Brown. Mum asked her if she wanted to go to the island the Skye (Highland). Megan accepted but soon she sadly said goodbye to her mother. After a few days she met his uncle named Uncle Fraser, and her cousin Idris. One day Megan left the house to see the sea and she found a unicorn; she closed her eyes and when she opened them again it had escaped. When Megan came home, she told Uncle Fraser who told her the real story of this last unicorn. She lived fantastic experiences with them so when she had to leave she was sad again. She went to the port by riding on a horse with uncle Uncle Fraser.
