In 1537 two identical boys were born in London.
One was Edward Tudor, the Prince of Wales, and the other was Tom Canty a
pauper.
Tom had to beg in the streets to obtain money
for his family because his father didn’t work, and he hit Tom if he didn’t
bring any money. Edward lived in Westminster Palace and had a lot of food,
clothes and many servants.
One day Tom went to Westminster Palace and he
could know Prince Edward, who invited him to enter the palace. They spent all
the afternoon talking about how their life was, and at the end, they decided to
change places for a while. No one would notice it because they were identical.
Both could know how the other one lived. Tom
was very happy as a Prince because he had lot of luxury around him, but he
thought that the Prince life was very boring, and he also missed his mother and
sisters. Eduard could know how difficult was to live without money and how
different was the attitude of the people depending on who you are.
At the end they changed the places again and
they became friends for all their lives.
